Indianapolis, Ind. - September 16, 2019 - Mount Holyoke College's Associate Director of Athletics for Programming, Erica Lemm, has been selected to attend the 2019-20 NCAA Leadership Academy Workshop (LAW).

The NCAA Leadership Academy Workshop educates and trains athletics administrators to develop effective, comprehensive leadership curriculum for student-athletes and department staff. Participants in the workshop learn how to facilitate discussions and structure effective activities and sessions.

The 2019-20 Leadership Academy Workshop involves two sessions: September 15-17, 2019 which will take place in Atlanta and January 5-7, 2020 in Indianapolis.  Over two sessions, participants will explore the ideal frame works for a leadership academy, discuss the best practices for implementation, learn evaluation methods, and investigate the best strategies to collaborate with key stakeholders and the campus community.

"Over twenty years ago as the NCAA Education Outreach Program Coordinator, I oversaw the initial development of a leadership and facilitator training program for the NCAA membership.  I am so proud that the NCAA continues to invest in this type of work and grateful that Mount Holyoke's student-athletes will be the beneficiaries," said Chair of Physical Education and Director of Athletics at Mount Holyoke College, Lori Hendricks '92  As a component of our department's strategic plan, we are committed to the leadership development of our student-athletes. Erica will immediately put these new tools to use to reimagine our Peak Performance Program and Captains Leadership Academy."
