  • 2011-12 Squash Year in Review

    Under the direction of fourth year head coach Allen Fitzsimmons, the Mount Holyoke squash team posted an overall record of 17-11 in 2011-12. The Lyons finished with a CSA ranking of 14th nationally. Senior Shara Robertson and sophomore Randima Ranaweera set the tone with their outstanding production at the top of the lineup.
  • Five Lyons Compete in CSA Individual Championships

    Five members of the Mount Holyoke squash team competed in the 2012 CSA Individual Championships at Amherst College over the weekend. Highlighting the weekend for the Lyons was senior Shara Robertson, who advanced to the Quarterfinal Round of the Holleran Cup with three straight victories.
  • Ranaweera Earns Lyons of the Week Honors

    Sophomore Randima Ranaweera has earned the Lyon of the Week Award after her spectacular showing at the CSA National Championships over the weekend. Playing at the top of the lineup, she posted shutouts in all three of her matches, dropping just 55 points in the process. Mount Holyoke will finish the season ranked 13th nationally.

    Mount Holyoke suffered a 6-3 setback to Columbia today at the CSA National Championships. Randima Ranaweera, Shara Robertson and Shaheen Madraswala each collected wins for the Lyons, who closed out the season with an overall record of 17-11.

    Sixth-seeded Mount Holyoke picked up a thrilling 6-3 triumph over seventh-seeded Hamilton this afternoon at 2012 CSA National Championships. With the win, the Lyons secured a spot in the Kurtz Cup (B Division) Consolation Championship. They will face off against fifth-seeded Columbia tomorrow at 8:30 a.m.
  • Squash Falls to Brown in Quarterfinal Round of National Championships

    Sixth-seeded Mount Holyoke fell 8-1 to third-seeded Brown this afternoon in the quarterfinal round of the 2012 CSA National Championships. Sophomore Randima Ranaweera led the way for the Lyons with a convincing 3-0 triumph at the top of the lineup.
  • Squash Falls to Perennial Powerhouse Trinity in Regular Season Finale

    Mount Holyoke closed out its regular season with a 9-0 loss to fifth-ranked Trinity College this afternoon. The Lyons rounded out their regular season with an overall record of 16-9. They have positioned themselves to once again compete for the Kurtz Cup (B Division) at next weekend’s CSA National Championships.

Randima Ranaweera, Shara Robertson, Katrina Intal and Kathryn Brummer came up with wins for the Lyons, who entered the day ranked 13th in the latest CSA National Rankings.
  • Squash Rolls to Sixth Consecutive Seven Sisters Championship

    Mount Holyoke rolled to its sixth consecutive Seven Sisters Championship today at Vassar. After racing to 9-0 victories over Wellesley and Smith, the Lyons blanked Vassar 9-0 to seal the title. They were represented by Randima Ranaweera, Shara Robertson and Katrina Intal on the All-Tournament Team.
  • Brummer Collects College Squash Player of the Week Honors

    Junior Kathryn Brummer has earned the CSA Player of the Week award after leading Mount Holyoke to a 3-1 record at the Maine Event last weekend. The captain came out on top in all four of her matches at the number six position, dropping just four games in the process.

    Mount Holyoke celebrated senior day with a 9-0 triumph over Connecticut College this evening. Prior to the contest, Shara Robertson, Marie Ozanne, Paulina Rojek and Sarah Moore were honored for their contributions to the program over the past four seasons.

    After a successful roadtrip in Maine over the weekend, Mount Holyoke returns home to face off against Connecticut College tomorrow evening at 7:00 p.m. The Lyons will enter the match ranked 13th in the latest CSA National Rankings. They have rolled to three straight victories over the Camels. A senior day celebration is slated to take place prior to the contest.
  • Brummer Leads Squash to Split on Final Day of Maine Event

    Led by junior Kathryn Brummer, Mount Holyoke split a pair of matches today at the annual Maine Event. After falling 7-2 to Bates, the Lyons rebounded with an 8-1 triumph over Bowdoin. Brummer prevailed in both matches to cap off her perfect weekend.

    The 2012 Pioneer Valley Invitational will feature 49 matches between 25 of the top teams from around the region. Tournament action will begin on Friday and conclude on Sunday. Mount Holyoke is slated to face Hamilton, Yale, Columbia and Haverford.

Last season, they upset the Panthers 6-3 in the opening round of the CSA National Championships after falling 7-2 earlier in the year.
