Lyons Game Day Central: Lacrosse vs. Coast Guard on Saturday

THE MATCHUP: Mount Holyoke concludes its regular season home schedule on Saturday, welcoming the Bears of the United States Coast Guard Academy for the fourth time in program history. The series, which began in 2015, favors the Lyons by a 3-0 margin. Today also marks Senior Day as the Lyons celebrate their four graduating seniors of the Class of 2018.

THE LYONS: Mount Holyoke (3-10; 1-4 NEWMAC) returns to the field following a tough loss to Springfield on Wednesday evening. Senior midfielder Kaitlin Braz notched team-high's in several categories for the Lyons, including goals (2), ground balls (5) and draw controls (4). Overall, the Lyons are led by senior attack and captain Leila Kouakou who boasts a team-high 31 points and a team-leading 22 goals with nine assists. Junior attack Deyscha Smith is close behind with 27 points, including a team-best 22 goals, while in net, sophomore Mia Wysocki (3-8) has recorded 94 saves.

THE BEARS: Coast Guard (10-4; 3-2 NEWMAC) is back in action after recording their program record 10th win of the season in a 17-10 victory against Wellesley. Senior captain and attack Daria McKenna led the Bears with a game-high six points on four goals and two assists. Through 14 games, McKenna leads Coast Guard in scoring with 30 goals and a NEWMAC-best 28 assists for 58 points. First year midfielder Brenna Farrington is second overall with a team-high 54 goals and three assists for 57 points. In goal, rookie Rebecca Dolan (8-2) has notched 54 saves.

UP NEXT: Both teams return to action on Wednesday as Mount Holyoke travels to Smith for a 6pm match, while Coast Guard welcomes MIT at 4pm.
