SETTING THE SCENE: Mount Holyoke College welcomes the Lions of Emerson College for just the fifth time in program history, dating back to a quadruple overtime win for the Lyons in 2014. The series is now split, with a pair of victories for both teams.

THE LYONS: Mount Holyoke (2-8; 0-2 NEWMAC) returns home after a 1-1 record last week. In the 10-8 win over Salve Regina, senior attacker Leila Kouakou matched her career-high with five tallies, to go along with six draw controls and three caused turnovers. Kouakou scored four goals against the Lions a season ago. Overall, junior attacker Deyscha Smith leads the team in scoring with 19 goals, while sophomore Mia Wysocki holds down the net with 69 stops on the year.

THE LIONS: Emerson (0-8; 0-2 NEWMAC) takes the field in South Hadley after a 13-6 loss to Wheaton last Saturday. In the effort, both junior Emily Quinn and sophomore Sophia Gripari each notched a pair of goals, while Gripari also scooped up three ground balls and caused a turnover. Quinn currently leads the team in scoring  overall with 15 goals on the season. In net, senior goalkeeper Kristina Modica has recorded 94 saves on the year.

UP NEXT: Mount Holyoke will hit the road again on Saturday in a noon-time matchup against Wellesley College, while Emerson concludes a three-game road stretch against Smith College on Saturday at 1:00pm.
