SETTING THE SCENE: Mount Holyoke College welcomes the Owls of Westfield State on Tuesday for just the 10th time in program history. The series dates back to a 16-8 win for the Lyons in 2009, which ignited a seven-game streak. The Owls have won the previous two matchups, but trail 7-2 overall in the series.

THE LYONS: Mount Holyoke (1-2) returns to South Hadley after a visit to Bridgewater State last Saturday. In the 9-7 loss, MHC played well as a team, seeing seven different players register goals and four seperate players earn an assist. Sophomore goalkeeper Mia Wysocki led the game with nine stops in net.

THE OWLS: Westfield (0-0) takes the field for its first game of the season after winning the MASCAC Championship with a 14-6 record in 2017. The squad advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament a year ago. The Owls return 21 players from last year's roster, including sophomore Sydney Lambert, who led the team in points, goals, and ground balls. Westfield also returns goalies Maria Woodall and Alanah Melanson, who each had 96 and 82 saves, respectively.

UP NEXT: Mount Holyoke will fly to Colorado for a pair of matches against RPI on the 14th and Colorado College on the 16th. Both games are set for 1pm Eastern Time (11am Mountain Time). Westfield will be back on the road on Friday to face Western New England University at 4pm.
