THE MATCHUP: Mount Holyoke concludes its three-game homestand on Wednesday, hosting Wheaton College in a Battle of the Lyons on the Turf Field. It marks the 41st all-time meeting between the two programs, dating back to the first contest in 1980 - a 10-10 tie. The Lyons of Wheaton hold the series advantage by a 27-10-3 margin, including wins in each of the last five contests. Mount Holyoke's last victory came during the 2010 season - a 15-6 victory.

THE LYONS: Mount Holyoke (1-6, 0-2 NEWMAC) suffered a 14-6 setback against Babson in action last Saturday. shouldered a tough 14-6 loss to Emerson on Wednesday evening. Senior captain and attacker Julia Bell posted three goals and two assists with a game-best four caused turnovers, four draw controls and four ground balls, while junior Isa Rodriguez made 10 stops in goal. Other solid efforts for the Lyons included a game-high six draw control effort from middie/defender Julia Lankin.

THE LYONS: Wheaton (5-5, 2-0 NEWMAC) earned its first shutout of the season last Saturday, defeating Coast Guard by a 16-0 margin. Senior Jenna Tewksbury had a game-high three goals to go with six draw controls and two groundballs, while senior Allie Bush ended the day with two goals and a season-high five assists. In goal, sophomore Molly Witten played nearly 40 minutes in goal, coming up with just one save on one shot faced.

NEXT UP: Mount Holyoke is back in action on Saturday when it travels to Springfield for a 1pm game against the Pride. Wheaton is also back on the field on Saturday, traveling to Babson for a 2pm game.
