"Lyon of the Week" Award Goes to Crew Team's First Varsity Eight Boat
The crew team's first varsity eight boat has earned the "Lyon of the Week" award for the week of April 26 - May 2 after taking home top honors in the Petite Final at the New England Rowing Championships on Saturday. Led by senior coxswain Mya Steadman, the team crossed the line in just 7:25.350. The Lyons finished ahead of Wellesley College, Simmons College, WPI and Tufts University. They were the seventh best squad overall and ranked fourth among NCAA Division III competitors. Prior to the Petite Final, the varsity eight boat posted a third place time of 7:07.275 in its preliminary heat. Steadman was joined in the boat by Clare Enright, Sarah Patches, Hannah Blackmer, Ellen Bledsoe, Megan Roark, Cleo Schneider, Robyn Kranzler and Kirstie Young.
