Riding Opens Action at 2018 IHSA National Championships

HARRISBURG, Pa. - The Mount Holyoke College riding team opened action at the 2018 IHSA National Championships on Thursday at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex. After the first classes of the championships, the Lyons saw a number of solid efforts.

Senior Sabrina Fox (Westfield, Ma./Westfield) got things going in Collegiate Cup Novice Equitation Over Fences. Though she put forth a strong ride, Fox finished just outside the top-10, earning Honorable Mention honors.

Following a clearing of the arena, senior Emily Holowczak (South Windsor, Conn./East Catholic) was next in the ring, competing in Individual Intermediate Equitation on the Flat. She posted a strong ride, taking ninth overall.

Action returned to team action as first year Sara Hearn (Tallahassee, Fla./Leon) was up in Collegiate Cup Novice Equitation on the Flat. Hearn put forth an outstanding ride, but placed just outside the top-10, garnering Honorable Mention.

 

In the final event of the day for the Lyons, Collegiate Cup Intermediate Equitation on the Flat, Fox was back in action for the Lyons. She had a strong effort, taking eighth in the class.
