SETTING THE SCENE: Mount Holyoke College hits the hardwood against Emerson College for the sixth time dating back to a 3-1 victory in 2005. The Lions currently hold a 5-0 advantage over Mount Holyoke picking up its most recent win in 2016.

THE LYONS: Mount Holyoke (4-4; 0-3 NEWMAC) plays the second game of two-game homestand following a 3-1 loss to Coast Guard Academy on Tuesday. For the Lyons, sophomore middle hitter Sasha Simine led the attack with 11 kills, followed by junior middle hitter Jamesa Allen, who had nine. Juniors Joy Maran, Cameron Graham, and Sara Caggiano each recorded 10 digs on the evening. First year setter Brayden Walden had a team-high 17 assists. Overall, Simine, who is fourth in the conference in blocks per set (.93) and fifth in hitting percentage (.360), leads the team in kills with 71 and total blocks with 26.

THE LIONS: Emerson (4-6; 0-3 NEWMAC)  enters Saturday after a 3-0 conference loss on the road to Babson. First year outside hitter Grace Tepper finished the match with a team-best seven kills. Junior setter Moira Brennan comnpleted the only double-double on the floor with 19 assists and 10 digs. Overall, Tepper leads the team and is fourth in the NEWMAC with 144 kills this season. Defensively, junior middle hitter Kelly Guerra leads the squad with 27 total blocks.

UP NEXT: Mount Holyoke will begin a three-game road trip beginning with WPI on Tuesday at 7:00pm. Emerson will also be in NEWMAC action at 7:00pm on Tuesday, heading home to play Clark.
