SETTING THE SCENE: Mount Holyoke College opens its 2016 home schedule on Saturday, hosting Western New England University and St. Joseph University for a tri-match at the Mildred S. Howard Gymnasium. After facing off against Western New England at 11:00 a.m., the Lyons will meet up with the BlueJays at 3:00 p.m.

THE LYONS: Mount Holyoke (0-0) will look to repeat the start it saw a  year ago when they opened up the season winning five of its first six games. The Lyons return sophmore middle hitter Jamesa Allen who was second on the team in kills with 130 and had a team leading 36 blocks. Also returning, is senior setter Natalie Lyon who led the team with 506 assists.

A LOOK AT THE FIELD: Western New England (0-1) enters the year after posting a 14-13 mark last year and going 5-3 in conference play. The Golden Bears return junior middle hitter Carly Skibinski who was second on the team in kills with 252. Also returning is sophmore defensive specialist Emily Woodford who was the teams digs leader with 300. St. Joseph (1-0) returns after going 12-16 last year. SJU returns senior middle hitter Cassandra Grimaldi who led the returners with 86 kills a season ago. Carly Ruzbasan  also returns after leading the returners with 183 assists.

UP NEXT: Following today's matches, MHC returns to action on Tuesday, hosting MCLA (7pm). Western New England heads back home to face Wheaton on Tuesday (7pm), while St. Joseph will host Pine Manor on Thursday (7pm).
