Lyons Game Day Central: Tennis vs. Clark College at 4:30pm

THE MATCHUP: Mount Holyoke College welcomes Clark University on Tuesday for the 31st time in program history. The series dates back to the Lyons 6-3 victory in 1986. Since then, MHC has amassed a 29-1 record, including a current 20-game win streak spanning back to 1997.

THE LYONS: Mount Holyoke (6-9; 3-2 NEWMAC) enters Tuesday's match after following a tough loss to #13 MIT on Saturday. Prior to the loss, the Lyons were victors in three of the last four NEWMAC matches, defeating Emerson, Wheaton, and Springfield. Overall, sophomore Catherine Peabody leads the team with a singles record of 8-6, and a 3-2 mark in conference action. In doubles, Peabody and first year Anya Gerasimova own a team-best doubles record of 9-5.

THE COUGARS: Clark (1-4; 3-9 NEWMAC) visits South Hadley after a three matches in three days last week. The Cougars went 1-2, taking down Smith College, 6-3 on Friday. Clark trailed in the match, but first year Elizabeth Garfield turned the tide, giving the Cougars the leas with a win in #4 singles. Overall, Clark has three players with a pair of singles victories, while sophomore Kathryn Benson leads the team in doubles with a 2-3 record.

NEXT UP: Mount Holyoke closes out its home schedule on Saturday against Wellesley College at 12:00pm, while Clark is back on the road on Thursday to face Regis College at 4:00pm.
