THE MATCHUP: Mount Holyoke continues its three game homestand against Emerson College. MHC has a flawless record  (3-0) when facing the Lions. The last two mathchups saw a 9-0 sweep by Mount Holyoke in 2014 & 2015. The first matchup between the two squads in 2013 saw MHC as the 6-3 victor.

THE LYONS: Mount Holyoke (3-0; 1-0 NEWMAC) has performed exceptionally to open up the 2016-17 campaign, sitting atop the NEWMAC with a  3-0 record along with a 1-0 mark in conference play. The Lyons come into the match after sweeping Simmons 9-0. Through three matches, four players remain undefeated in singles action, including senior captain Amy Chen (3-0), sophomores Madison Rosen (2-0) and Ayame Yazawa (3-0), along with freshman Ching-Ching Huang (3-0). In doubles, First year Catherine Peabody and junior Ishita Tibrewal own a 3-0 record, while senior captain Alexa Colas and Chen are also 3-0.

THE LIONS: Emerson (0-1; 0-1 NEWMAC) comes into the day playing one match in which they dropped a match to conference foe MIT 9-0.  Emerson was set to play Nichols on Tuesday, but the match was postponed.
 
NEXT UP: The Lyons are right back on the court tommorow when they face conference rival Wellesley at 11am. Emerson is back in action on Tuesday, traveling to UMASS-Dartmouth at 3:30pm.
