THE MATCHUP: Mount Holyoke concludes its three-game homestand on Saturday, playing host to the Engineers of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). It marks the 48th all-time meeting between the two programs, dating back to 1974-75 - a 54-44 MHC victory. The Lyons own the series edge by a 24-23 margin, but the Engineers have seen the most recent success with wins in each of the last nine contests.     

THE LYONS: Mount Holyoke (0-5; 0-1 NEWMAC) returns to action following a tough conference-opening loss at home to WPI on Wednesday. Junior captain Leah Hodges paced the effort for the Lyons with a game-best 10 points.  Through the first five games, sophomore guard Katlyn Grover leads the Lyons in scoring with a 12.8 points per game average. Hodges is second with 7.4 points per game average and a team-best 5.0 rebounding margin.

THE ENGINEERS: MIT (2-2; 1-0 NEWMAC) enters this weekend's action following a 69-52 victory over Smith in the conference opener. Head coach Sonia Raman earned her 100th career victory at the helm of the Engineers, paced by a 23-point effort from junior guard Taylor V'Dovec. Through the squad's first four games, V'Dovec currently leads the Engineers in scoring and rebounds with averages of 17.0 and 7.3, respectively.

NEXT UP: Both squads are back in NEWMAC action on Wednesday as Mount Holyoke travels to Springfield (7pm), while MIT is at Emerson (5:30pm).
