THE MATCHUP: Mount Holyoke welcomes NEWMAC-rival WPI on Saturday in the 38th meeting between the two schools. The series, which began in 1976-77 - a 45-42 MHC win, has seen the Engineers post a 25-12 mark. Additionally, WPI has seen the most recent success, winning 14 of the last 15 meetings. The Lyons last claimed victory in 2013-14, defeating WPI by a 43-38 margin in Worcester.

MHC Logo THE LYONS: Mount Holyoke (6-18, 3-12 NEWMAC) shouldered a tough 47-39 loss to Springfield on Wednesday night. Senior Kate Karraker was outstanding throughout, scoring a game-best 28 points, including six three-pointers. She also became the 13th player in MHC history to record 1,000 career points, sinking a trey at 15:40 of the second half for the milestone. Through 24 games, the Lyons are led in scoring by senior forward Amber Legare, who is averaging 16.6 points per game to go along with 10.4 rebounds. She currently ranks third in the NEWMAC in both scoring and rebounding. Karraker is averaging 15.5 points per contest - which is fifth in the conference - also adding a squad-best 49 assists. Additionaly, senior forward Nicole DeMarchena owns the most blocks in the conference with 62 (2.8 per game) and is 12th in Division III in blocks per game. She also ranks second on the team in rebounding average with a 9.6 mark and is fourth in the NEWMAC.

Opponent Logo THE ENGINEERS: WPI (15-9, 8-7 NEWMAC) saw Smith rally from behind to pull off a 45-40 victory in NEWMAC action on Wednesday evening. Leading the way for the Engineers was first year guard Ama Biney, who scored a game-high 11 points and grabbed six rebounds. Senior forward Dani Davis chipped in seven points and five boards, while sophomore forward Tess Nogueria added six points, three rebounds and two steals. Through 24 games, the Engineers are led in scoring by Davis, who is averaging 12.6 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. Biney is adding 8.3 points per game, while senior forward Amaia Gritsko is the team's leading rebounder with a 6.7 clip.
