Lyons Gameday Central: Field Hockey vs. Westfield State on Wednesday at 7pm

THE MATCHUP: Mount Holyoke takes to the field for the final home game of the regular season on Wednesday, welcoming the Owls of Westfield State University. It marks the ninth all-time meeting between the two programs, dating back to the first game in 1974 - a 5-0 Lyons victory. MHC owns the series advantage by a 7-1 margin, including victories in each of the last six games.   

THE LYONS: Mount Holyoke (10-5; 4-3 NEWMAC) returns to the field following a tough 2-0 loss at Smith on Saturday. The Lyons saw sophomore keeper Morgan Turner post 10 saves, while classmate Lia Messersmith notched a defensive save. On the season, senior captain and forward Sophie Perekslis leads the MHC offense with 26 points on 12 goals and two assists. Junior midfielder Mirjam Keochakian has 20 points (7g, 6a) to sit second overall. In the cage, Turner (10-5) owns a 1.82 goals against average and has notched 63 saves on the season.

THE OWLS: Westfield State (8-8; 7-4 LEC) saw first year goalkeeper Molly Duff-Still post 10 saves and fellow rookie Brianah Parker tallied the lone goal as the Owls pulled out a 1-0 victory over Plymouth State on Saturday. This season, the Owls' offense has been paced by sophomore forward Cora Rogers, who has 11 goals and three assists for 25 points. Senior defender Rachel Bunce sits second with 18 points (8g, 2a). In goal, Duff-Still (6-5) has a 2.15 goals against average with 50 saves, while classmate Katie Vamosi (2-3) has notched 35 saves on the year.

NEXT UP: Mount Holyoke concludes the regular season on Saturday, traveling to WPI for a 1pm match against the Engineers. Westfield State concludes the regular season with tonight's game and will next be in action on Saturday hosting Eastern Connecticut State in the Little East Quarterfinals at 3:30pm.
