THE MATCHUP: It's a battle of Lyons vs. Lyons as Mount Holyoke hosts conference-rival Wheaton College on Saturday afternoon. The match marks the 38th all-time meeting between the two programs, dating back to the first game in 1980 - a 3-2 Wheaton victory. While the Lyons of Wheaton own the series edge by a 20-15-2 margin, the Lyons of MHC have seen the most recent success with five straight wins dating back to 2012. 

THE LYONS: Mount Holyoke (8-4; 3-2 NEWMAC) is coming off a 2-0 victory at Simmons on Wednesday night, which saw first year Mirei Golding-Powers notch her first collegiate goal, while senior captain Sophie Perekslis posted her team-leading 10th tally of the year. On the season, Perekslis lead the MHC offense with 22 points (10 goals, 2 assists), while junior midfielder Mirjam Keochakian is second overall with 16 points (6 goals, 4 assists). In the cage, sophomore Morgan Turner (8-4) has recorded 50 saves.

THE LYONS: Wheaton (5-4; 0-2 NEWMAC) is coming off a 3-1 loss at Wesleyan on Tuesday. The Lyons senior forward Kelsey Buckley notch her team-leading ninth goal of the season, while junior goalie Riley Thompson posted 14 saves. This season, Wheaton's offense has been paced by senior forward Katie Peters, who has seven goals and five assists for 19 points. Buckley has 18 points (on nine goals), while in goal, Thompson (4-7) has notched a NEWMAC-high 113 saves.

NEXT UP: Both squads are back in action on Tuesday as Mount Holyoke welcomes Western New England University for a 7pm non-conference match, while Wheaton is at Babson for a 6pm NEWMAC game.
