Lyons Gameday Central: Field Hockey vs. Clark on Saturday at 1pm

THE MATCHUP: Mount Holyoke walks on to the turf in the conference opener against Clark for the 26th time in program history dating back to a 3-1 win for the Lyons in 1994. MHC heads into Saturday with momentum after winning 10 out of the last 11 matchups, including a 5-1 victory over the Cougars a year ago.

THE LYONS: Mount Holyoke (2-2; 0-0 NEWMAC) enters the contest following a tough 3-0 loss at #13 Williams on Wednesday evening. Sophomore goalie Morgan Turner posted 10 saves in the defeat for the Lyons. Offensively, MHC is paced by junior captain Colby Newsham and classmate Mirjam Keochakian, both of whom have four points overall. Defensively, Turner has recorded 26 saves, while Keochakian boasts a team-best two defensive saves.

THE COUGARS: Clark (2-2; 0-0 NEWMAC) returns to the field following a tough 2-0 loss to UMass-Dartmouth on Tuesday evening. Junior goalie Dani Michaud made one stop in the Cougars net. First year forward Chase Collier leads Clark in scoring through the first four games with three goals, while Michaud is 2-2 in goal with a 1.17 goals against average an .806 save percentage.

NEXT UP: Mount Holyoke will be right back on the turf field tomorrow in the back-end of a back-to-back against Thomas (ME) at 11:00am. Clark will be back in action on Tuesday as it travels to face Lasell College at 4:00pm.
