Sceats Secures "Lyon of the Week" Accolades
Junior Lindsay Sceats has earned the “Lyon of the Week” award for the week of May 3-9 after helping the riding team to a seventh place finish at the Intercollegiate Horse Show National Championships.
Sceats captured top honors in the prestigious Cacchione Cup Class to highlight the weekend for Mount Holyoke. The team captain became the third rider in program history to achieve the feat. She joined Claudia Barth (1990 - Fitch Cup) and Laena Romond (2002 - Cacchione Cup). Sceats had previously been crowned High Point Rider for both Zone 1 and Zone 1, Region 3.
In addition to her individual success, Sceats also contributed five points to Mount Holyoke’s team total with her second place showing in the open fences division. The Lyons remaining three points came from first year Allison O’Neill, who grabbed fourth place in the intermediate fences division.
