Cross Country Competes at Open New England Championships

BOSTON, Mass. - The Mount Holyoke College cross country team was in action on Saturday, competing at the 2016 Open New England Championships. The Lyons finished 35th overall in the race, which featured top ranked teams from all divisions.

Pacing the way for MHC in the 5k race was junior Mia Barnes, who crossed the line with a time of 21:04.02 - good for 128th overall. Sophomore Corrin Moss finished 201st on the afternoon, finishing with a mark of 21:06.46, while first year Kayla Dillon was 215th overall with a time of 22:10.78.

Sophomore Veneta Cholakova placed just behind in 217th on the afternoon, posting a time of 22:16.44, while first year Brigit Wolf had a time of 22:31.83, which was just behind Cholakova in 219th.

First year Emma Raney was 220th overall with a time of 22:32.09, while first year Alicia Moroyoqui rounded out the efforts in 228th with a mark of 23:46.25.

This year's winning team was from the University of New Hampshire, while Stonehill's Nicole Borofski took home this year's individual title in a time of 17:28.66.
