Lyons Cross Country Finishes Tenth at Saragota Invitational

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Mount Holyoke College cross country team finished 10th of 13 teams at the Saratoga Invitational, hosted by RPI on Saturday. The Lyons were paced in the 5K event by Sophomore Corrin Moss.

Moss led the Lyons' overall, finishing 49th in the field of 157 runners, with a time of 20:00.8. First year Brigit Wolf finished right on her heels with a time of 20:04.1, good for 50th overall, while junior Mia Barnes was 53rd with a time of 20:13.5.

Sophomore Veneta Cholakova was the next to cross for MHC, posting a time of 20:30.2 for 57th overall. First year Alicia Moroyoqui crossed 62nd overall with a 20:52.1 mark, while first year Emma Raney was 65th overall with a time of 20:54.2.

Rounding out the field for the Lyons was junior Kelly Stevens, who finished 68th overall with a 21:05.8 mark.

The host Engineers earned the overall victory placing first, followed by Plattsburgh State, SUNY New Paltz, Vassar, and Saint Rose.

Mount Holyoke will return to action next Saturday at the Open New England Championships in Boston, Mass.
