Before Mount Holyoke: Graduated from G.M.D. Atchia State College in Port-Louis, Mauritania in 2018/19.... Track and Field (2017-2018)

Why did you choose Mount Holyoke College? Mount Holyoke College was one of the few schools that demonstrated a high inclusivity rate. I was fascinated to learn that I could participate in so many activities and classes and would not have to worry about gender expectations. For instance, I could learn how to use a saw, do woodworking and/or laser-cutting in a safe environment where I was being encouraged to take the opportunities being given to us no matter the outcome. I also wanted to potentially explore new areas of study since I was restricted to a particular field of study in high school. Mount Holyoke seemed (and still seems) to be a place where you can play with your curiosity, seek an opportunity and work for your goals while being supported throughout your journey.
