Jacob Finishes Track & Field Career at National-Qualifying Meet

Cambridge, Mass. - May 23, 2022 - Senior Simone Jacob (San Francisco, Calif.) wrapped up a tremendous career for the Mount Holyoke College track and field program last week at a pair of Last Chance Qualifying meets.

At the Williams Last Chance Qualifier, Jacob continued to put the finishing touches on an incredible career at Mount Holyoke College with another record-breaking performance, as she dropped her program-record time in the 800 meter race to 2:15.32 which was good for third overall. Jacob previously posted a time of 2:16.43 at the NEICAAA Championships last weekend, topping the previous Mount Holyoke outdoor track & field program record in the event which was held by Langhan Dee, who posted a time of 2:17.72 in 2004. 

Junior Lauren Selkin (Greenwich, Conn.) also competed in the 1500 meter race and won with a time of 4:50.49.

Jacob then took part in the MIT Last Chance Qualfier on Thursday evening and took seventh overall with a time of 2:19.80.
