Favorite MHC Tradition: My favorite MHC tradition is Convocation. I love the fanfare after being away for a few months and being able to celebrate the new school year with friends I haven't been able to see in a while! The picnic on the green and everyone in good spirits is the best way to be welcomed back.

Why Mount Holyoke?: I chose Mount Holyoke because of the rigorous courses and the athletic/academic communities. Everyone was very welcoming when I first visited. I remember finishing up a field hockey camp at MHC and after I left I went to look around in the "Village Commons" with my family. Then I heard my name being shouted across the road and it was some MHC Field Hockey players calling out my name already to say hi! It was this warm welcoming atmosphere that I felt like I belonged at MHC and continue to feel everyday. The support is tangible on and off campus. Professors are so caring about their students and are very understanding about everyone circumstances. Our sport teams continuously show up to each other's games/matches/meets and cheer everyone on. Additionally, I loved the beautiful structure of the campus with many green patches for students to hang out on, trails for walking or running, and the homey red brick/green roofed buildings. I knew I would love spending as much time as possible here.
