Tennis Concludes Action at ITA Northeast Regionals

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Mount Holyoke College tennis team saw three of its student-athletes compete in the singles consolation round of the 2018 ITA Northeast Regional Tournament.

The day started with sophomore Anya Gerasimova, who played in two matches throughout the day. She began with a 6-1, 6-3 loss to Carolina Mertz, followed by a tough 6-3, 6-1 defeat at the hands of Brandeis' Karen Khromchenko.

Junior Catherine Peabody took to the courts as well, squaring off against Julia Phan from Williams College. She shouldered a tough 6-1, 6-2 loss to finish the day.

Senior Ayame Yazawa then took on Anna Kopituk from Colby-Sawyer. She posted a 7-5, 6-2 win, but concluded her day as there were no other opponents available in the consolation field.

Mount Holyoke is back in action on Thursday when it hosts the College of the Holy Cross at 6pm.
