Tennis Goes 1-1 in Seven Sisters Day 1 Action

2012 Seven Sisters Tennis Championship

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (Apr. 8, 2017) – The 2017 Seven Sisters Tennis Championship kicked off today with five matches at Mount Holyoke College. Reigning champion Vassar College picked up right where it left off in 2016, sweeping both Bryn Mawr College and Smith College by 5-0 scores. The Brewers will be looking for their 14th tournament title when play resumes tomorrow.

Wellesley College also enjoyed a solid day, posting a 4-1 win over Smith, before edging the host Lyons, 3-2.  Meanwhile, Mount Holyoke cruised to a 5-0 triumph over Bryn Mawr.

With one day in the books, Vassar and Wellesley sit in a tie for first place with 2-0 records. Mount Holyoke is third with a 1-1 mark, while Bryn Mawr and Smith are both without a win after day one.

The five team round robin tournament will conclude with five more matches tomorrow.
