Swimming and Diving Records 12th-Best GPA in Division III; Earns CSCAA Scholar All-America Team Honors

Colorado Springs, Colo. - January 22, 2021 - The Mount Holyoke College swimming and diving team was recently recognized for their efforts in the virtual classroom as the Lyons earned the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team award following the Fall 2020 semester after earning a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.76.

Of the 177 Division III women's swimming and diving programs that were recognized with the CSCAA Scholar All-America Team honor, the Lyons ranked 12th with their team grade-point average of 3.76. Within the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC), Mount Holyoke College's mark of 3.76 was the third-best among league foes.

"It is great to see our team continue to maintain high academic achievement even during the challenge of remote learning during the fall semester," said head swimming and diving coach Dave Allen. "Our team has a strong tradition of success in the classroom and this honor celebrates that success. This has been a challenging year and I am proud of how the team has really come together to support each other, even though we are only meeting online."

Across all Divisions, more than 450 institutions were named to the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America's Scholar All-America team for grades posted for the Fall 2020 semester.

Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), is the nation's first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development.
