WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Mount Holyoke senior Clarissa Govea gave another stellar performance, statistically the best of their now-concluded career, with 16 saves in a 0-0 tie at Wellesley on Saturday, in the season finale for the Lyons.

Govea (Pico Rivera, Calif.) helped Mount Holyoke (1-10-5, 0-9-2 NEWMAC) preserve a scoreless draw despite a 31-3 difference in shots attempted between the teams. That included a penalty kick saved by Govea against Wellesley senior Reika Ishibe in the 61st minute.

The 16 saves ties as Govea's career high with the Lyons' 1-0 loss to Babson on Oct. 11. Govea finished the year ranked first in the NEWMAC in both saves per game (10.20) and save percentage (.879). Govea ranked fifth in the conference in goals-against average (1.448).

The Blue end the regular season at 6-8-4 Overall and 3-5-3 in NEWMAC play.

Solveig Unteroberdoerster  and Hillary Gonzalez tied for the Wellesley lead with four shots taken apiece.

Wellesley senior goalie Riley McNair made three saves.

Junior Sage Hudson (Washington, D.C.) put two shots on goal for Mount Holyoke, and junior Selma Keochakian (Amherst, Mass.) added one.

Wellesley is waiting for the release of the NEWMAC Championship bracket to find out its playoff seeding.
