SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. -- Junior goalkeeper Evie Krieg had 10 saves as the Mount Holyoke College soccer team earned a 0-0 tie with the Wentworth Institute of Technology on Wednesday night at the MHC Soccer Field.

Emily Gamboa Ordini had six saves for the visiting Leopards (3-0-2), who outshot the host Lyons (1-1-2) by a 24-10 margin in the game, but only a 10-6 difference in shots on goal.

It was the second straight year the two non-conference opponents played to a draw.

Both teams had a number of scoring chances, the majority of them for the Wentworth side.

Junior forward Sage Hudson (Washington, D.C.) and senior midfielder Anna Kennedy (Glendale, Wis.) got off two high-quality shots apiece for the Lyons, and senior midfielder Jane Harmon (Ashburnham, Mass.) had a shot soar just over the crossbar in the first half.

For Wentworth, senior Erin Londregan, senior Jordan Dahan, junior Lily Carlson and junior Bryce Bateman all took shots that put a scare into the Lyons, but Krieg made a handful of athletic saves to preserve the tie.

Making her first start in goal this year, the All-NEWMAC goalie Krieg (Frisco, Texas) recorded her seventh career shutout, while senior midfielder Taryn White (Alexandria, Va.) was highly effective and disruptive in the middle for Mount Holyoke.

Mount Holyoke returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 20 at 1pm for the Lyons' NEWMAC opener against Salve Regina University.
