Golf Sits Seventh After First Day of the Jack Leaman Invitational

AMHERST, Mass – Day one of action at the 2018 Jack Leaman Invitational has concluded and through the first round, the Mount Holyoke College golf team sits seventh overall in the field. The Lyons posted an opening round score of 355. Leading the field are the hosts Amherst with a score of 316.

Individually, the Lyons are led by Stephanie Spitzer (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central), who is tied for 13th with an opening score of 82. Sophomore Elizabeth Andrian (Glastonbury, Conn./Glastonbury) is the next highest finisher in a nine-way tie 25th after shooting an 86.

Sitting in a tie for 33rd after the first round is sophomore Susan Lee (Irvine, Calif./University HS). Rounding out the group is first year Lahela Delaney (Honolulu, Hawaii/Roosevelt) and sophomore Madi Gale (Poulsbo, Wash./Kingston), who placed 46th and 48th with scores of 100 and 103, respectively.

Following Amherst in the top-five is New York University in second (320), followed by Williams College (323), Middlebury (334), and Vassar (340).

Action at this year's event concludes tomorrow morning.
