Golf Sits Fifth After Day One of NYU Invitational

Bloomfield, N.J. - The Lyons had a solid outing through day one of the NYU Invitational on Saturday, placing fifth out of 10 teams. Leading the Lyons through the first round was sophomore Elizabeth Andrian, who tied for 17th overall out of 51 golfers. The Lyons finished with an overall score of 347.

Spitzer (Glastonbury, Conn./Glastonbury) finished the day with a score of 83, while sophomore Susan Lee (Irvine, Calif./University HS) was close behind in a tie for 20th place with a score of 84. The Lyons next highest finisher was classmate Stephanie Spitzer (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale), who scored an 86 for a 25th place tie, while first year Caitlyn Richmond (Northampton, Mass./Northampton) finished in 37th with a score of 94.

Rounding out the Lyons performance was classmate Lahela Delaney (Honolulu, Hawaii/Roosevelt). Delaney finished in a tie for 41st with a score of 99 through day one.

New York University was the top finisher with an overall team score of 315. Holly Davenport of Williams College was the overall highest finisher with a score of 75.
