SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. -- Eleven members of the Mount Holyoke College rowing team were awarded Scholar-Athlete honors on Tuesday by the College Rowing Coaches Association.
The Lyons awarded were:
- Jen Butler '25 (Knoxville, Tenn.) - Biochemistry
- Josie Capps '27 (Waunakee, Wis.) - Biochemistry
- Lilla Carroll '25 (Birmingham, Ala.) - Astronomy/Physics
- Katrina Holbrook '26 (St. Paul, Minn.) - Data Science/Biological Sciences
- Delfina Incani '28 (Miami, Fla.) - Neuroscience & Behavior
- Elsa Kulatunga '27 (Helsingborg, Sweden) - Classical Studies
- Gwyn Munroe '27 (Lyme, N.H.) - Biochemistry
- Sarah Plotkin '27 (Duxbury, Mass.) - Psychology & Education
- Jill Slatch '25 (Gansevoort, N.Y.) - Biochemistry
- Lilje Stratton '25 (Bellevue, Wash.) - Geology/Psychology
- Gwen Werth '28 (Farmville, Va.) - Classical Studies
The CRCA Scholar-Athlete Award recognizes collegiate rowers who demonstrate a strong commitment to success in the classroom and on the water. Nominees must meet the following criteria:
Academic Requirements:
- Must meet all institutional and conference eligibility rules
- Must be in their 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th year of eligibility
- Must hold a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher through the end of the fall semester/winter quarter.
Athletic Requirements:
- Must have rowed in at least 75% of the team's spring races in an NCAA or IRA (lightweight) eligible boat, or Must have competed in an NCAA boat at their conference championship.
Mount Holyoke Rowing also claimed the 2024-25 Team GPA Award at Mount Holyoke, boasting an average cumulative GPA of 3.81.
