#15 Rowing Posts Clean Sweep Against Clark, Simmons & Rochester

WORCESTER, Mass. - It was a perfect morning on Lake Quinsigamond for the 15th-ranked Mount Holyoke College rowing team won all three of its races. The Lyons squared-off against Clark University, Simmons University and the University of Rochester.

The varsity eight race opened the action as the Lyons crossed the finish in a time of 6:59.7. It was a mark that held off Simmons (7:01.0), Clark (7:06.2) and Rochester (7:30.5) in solid fashion.

Senior coxswain Zoe Zelkowitz, first year Simran Kaur, junior Hannah LeBlanc, first year Jocelyn Greer, junior Elizabeth Hazen, sophomore Casey Roepke, first year Xena Ault, junior Lainie LaRonde and first year Audrey Shannon comprised the varsity eight boat.

 
Next up was the second varsity eight race, which saw MHC once again come out on top. The Lyons posted a finish time of 7:30.6, defeating Clark (7:32.8) and Simmons (7:46.8).
 
The second varsity eight boat included first year coxswain Jaya Nagarajan-Swenson, first year Sarah Lancaster, sophomore Molly Aslin, junior Halee Mahoney, sophomore Gabrielle Spano, senior Sharlow Hitchcock, first year Amy Wang, first year Jillian Currier and first year Shoshi Daniels.
 
 
Mount Holyoke's last race of the day featured the varsity four, which powered its way to victory in a time of 8:21.0. The Lyons held off Rochester (8:22.5), Simmons 'A' (8:48.6) and Simmons 'B' (9:20.7).

Sophomore coxswain Ilana Goldin, first year Elle Bukosky, first year Katherine Dailey, sophomore Kate Dutilly and first year Claire Gabel made up the varsity four crew.

Mount Holyoke returns to Lake Quinsigamond next Saturday when it competes against Assumption and Coast Guard.
