Led by ninth-year head coach Michelle Scecina, the Mount Holyoke basketball team posted an overall record of 5-18 during the 2012-13 campaign.

The Lyons opened the season with a 70-44 victory over Mount Ida at the Keene State Tip-Off Tournament and went on to finish as the runner-up. Senior guard and captain Angelica Pascual and sophomore forward Amber Legare both earned All-Tournament Team accolades.

After a rough patch to conclude the 2012 portion of the schedule, the Lyons got off to a good start in 2013 with back-to-back wins. MHC downed Simmons by a 70-51 margin and grabbed a 51-49 NEWMAC victory against Wheaton.

Despite shouldering a loss to Wellesley in its next game, history was made as Pascual became just the 11th player in program history to reach 1,000 career points. She hit the milestone at the 18:11 mark of the second half against the Blue.

Mount Holyoke kept the excitement going in an 86-82 double overtime win against Springfield and three games later sealed up a 61-59 nail-bitter against Clark.

The Lyons were led in scoring for the fourth straight season by Pascual, who averaged 14.5 points per game and was selected to play in the NEWBA Senior All-Star Classic at season's end. Legare added 11.6 points and a team-best 7.4 rebounds per contest.
