2009-10 Basketball Season in ReviewAugust 01, 2010With sixth year head coach Michelle Scecina leading the way, the Mount Holyoke basketball team posted an overall record of 8-18 in 2009-10. The Lyons advanced to the NEWMAC Tournament for the second year in a row, falling 57-40 to second seeded WPI in the quarterfinal round. They posted a 6-12 mark in league play.

Awards Handed Out at Annual Athletic BanquetMay 06, 2010The Mount Holyoke College Department of Athletics hosted its annual awards celebration this evening in Chapin Auditorium. Individuals from all 14 varsity teams were honored. Squash Head Coach Allen Fitzsimmons served as the events emcee. Soccer team member Lauren Orr earned the prestigious Alumnae Association Scholar-Athlete Award.

Seniors Honored at Scholar Athlete ReceptionMay 06, 2010Prior to the annual athletics awards celebration this evening, 17 Mount Holyoke seniors representing 11 teams were honored as part of the College's second annual Scholar Athlete Reception. The recognition event highlighted those student-athletes who have excelled both on the field and in the classroom.

NEWMAC Announces Winter Academic All-Conference SquadsMarch 10, 2010The NEWMAC recently announced its 2009-10 Winter Academic All-Conference Teams. Seven Mount Holyoke College student-athletes were recognized for their achievements in their respective sports as well as in the classroom. Academic All-Conference Teams were selected for the sports of basketball and swimming and diving.

Hoops For HaitiMarch 05, 2010The Mount Holyoke College basketball team took on a motley crew of faculty and staff in a game to raise money for Haiti earthquake victims on Tuesday evening at the Mildred Howard Gymnasium. The stands were packed with enthusiastic fans who cheered in unison whenever either side scored.
