Riding Finishes 11th at the 2017 IHSA National Championships

FINAL RESULTS

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The 2017 IHSA National Championships concluded on Saturday at the Kentucky Horse Park for the Mount Holyoke College riding team. After the third day of competition, the Lyons finished in a tie for 11th overall. Highlighting the day was senior captain Bridget Finnerty, who had a strong final day, and was also awarded the IHSA National Sportsmanship Award along with head coach CJ Law.

Finnerty (Baltimore, Md./Bryn Mawr School) took to the ring for the Lyons in the Collegiate Cup Open Equitation Over Fences. In her final collegiate event, Finnerty placed ninth overall. Additionally, she also finished 13th of 38 riders for the prestigious USEF/Cacchione Cup.

Also in action on Saturday was first year Franny Eremeeva (Northampton, Mass/Stoneleigh Burnham), who competed for MHC in the Collegiate Cup Open Equitation on the Flat. Despite a solid effort, she finished just outside the ribbons with an Honorable Mention.

It was a solid three days of competition for Mount Holyoke at this year's National Championships, paced by Finnerty, who finished in the top-10 in her three rides, while also performing well in the Cacchione Cup.

Savannah College of Art and Design was crowned this year's champions after compiling 32 points. It marks their third straight national title. Centenary College was runner-up with 27 points, while Stanford University rounded out the top three with 20 points.
