Simone Jacob (San Francisco, Calif.) of the track and field team has been selected as the Mount Holyoke College Athletics "Lyon of the Week" after an impressive individual performance this past weekend.
At the Greater Boston Track Club Invitational, hosted at Harvard on Sunday, Jacob put forth an impressive effort in the one mile race, as the junior Biology major posted a time of 5:19.78 to finish second overall in her section. Jacob's mark of 5:19.78 was the fourth-fastest time in Mount Holyoke College indoor track and field history. The junior also posted a time of 2:29.00 in the 800 meter run, which was a season-best performance.
