Sara Hearn (Tallahasee, Fla.) of the riding team has been recognized as the Mount Holyoke College Athletics Lyon of the Week after leading the Lyons to being named Reserve Champions at the 27th Holiday Tournament of Champions, hosted by Penn State at the Grier School this past Saturday.
Hearn, a junior Psychology major at Mount Holyoke College, started the day with a first-place finish in Open Equitation Over Fences, before returning to the ring and producing another first-place finish to secure another blue ribbon in Open Equitation on the Flat. Hearn then came back with a beautiful ride in the second section of the High Medal Flat. After both sections of Low and High Medal Flat were completed, Hearn and teammate Sierra Dunn were called back with in the top ten for each division of Fences. At the end of the day, Hearn placed third in the High Medal.
