Caitlyn Richmond (Northampton, Mass.) of the swimming and diving team has been recognized for her impressive meet this past Saturday, as the junior was selected as the Mount Holyoke College Athletics "Lyon of the Week".
Richmond, a junior Environmental Studies major at Mount Holyoke College, helped lead Mount Holyoke College to victory over Western New England this past Saturday, as she claimed victory in a pair of events and was also a part of two relay teams that posted first-place finishes. Richmond's day started by anchoring the 200 medley relay team that won with a time of 2:04.25, before the junior took first overall in the 50 breaststroke, touching in 34.27 seconds. Just four events later, Richmond won the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:11.75 before racing the third leg of the 200 freestyle relay in which the Lyons were victorious, clocking in at 1:51.01.
