Ashton Bliss (Yorktown, Va.) of the swimming and diving team has been named the Mount Holyoke College Athletics "Lyon of the Week" following a standout performance this past weekend in a meet versus University of New England.
Bliss, a junior Politics and German Studies major at Mount Holyoke College, had a standout performance at this past weekend's home opener for the Lyons. Bliss was victorious in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 11:30.76 and in the 400 IM with a time of 5:08.10. Following the 400 IM, Bliss returned to the pool immediately for the 400 freestyle relay and anchored the team to a winning time of 3:56.84. The Lyons' relay win would be the difference in a 132-128 victory over UNE. Bliss also took fourth in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:33.19.
