Cross Country Places 39th at NCAA New England Regionals

GORHAM, Maine - The Mount Holyoke College cross country team put forth a great effort on Saturday, competing at the 2017 NCAA New England Regional Championships, hosted by the University of Southern Maine at the Gorham Country Club. The Lyons finished 39th overall in a competitive field of 56 teams.

Leading the way was junior Corrin Moss, who was 144th overall in a 6k field that included 393 total runners. She posted a personal record time of 23:52.7 in the event. First year Simone Jacob was next to cross the line for the Lyons, placing 196th overall with a time of 24:36.5, which was also a personal best.

Sophomore Emma Raney powered her way to 208th overall, recording a personal best finish of 24:45.2 in the 6k race. Senior Mia Barnes crossed the finish line in a season's best time of 25:41.9 - good for 274th overall, while sophomore Michelle Serrano placed 279th, also with a season's best time of 25:47.8.

Mount Holyoke then saw sophomore Brigit Wolf post a season's best time of 26:01.0 to place 292nd, while senior Julia Criscione was 301 overall, recording a personal record time of 26:16.0.

The Lyons conclude the season with today's event.
