Coklow Wins 60-Meter Dash at ECACs; Posts School Record & 2nd Straight Title

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - Senior captain Camille Coklow blazed her way to her second straight ECAC Indoor Championship title in the 60-meter dash on Saturday, notching a school record mark to secure her spot in the upcoming NCAA Indoor Championships. This year's championship, which took place at the Ocean Breeze Complex, saw Coklow best a field of eight runners including two who are among the top 10 in Division III.

Coklow, who hails from Chicago, Ill., sprinted her way to her second ECAC 60-meter dash title, posting a time of 7.63. It eclipsed her previous record of 7.64, set last year in the preliminaries of the NCAA Indoor Championships. Her 7.63 also put her among the top three times in the Division III this year (according to tfrrs.org).

The former Latin School of Chicago standout has now won the 60-m dash in four of the five meets she has competed this season, including both invitationals at Smith, as well as the Wesleyan Invitational. She placed third in the event at the Division III New England Championships two weeks ago.

While the official release from the NCAA is still to come, Coklow has all but sealed her spot for the the Indoor National Championships for the third time in her career. Last season, she finished sixth in the 60-meter dash at Nationals with a time of 7.72, to earn NCAA All-American honors. She also represented the Lyons at the 2013 Indoor National Championships.

This year's meet will take place from March 11-12 in Grinnell, Iowa at the Charles Benson Bear '39 Rec and Athletic Center.
