Track & Field Opens 2015-16 at Smith Invitational

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – It was a solid day of action for the Mount Holyoke College track & field team, which opened its 2015-16 season at the 2015 Smith College Invitational. The meet, which was non-scoring, saw a number of outstanding efforts for MHC.

Leading the way was senior Camille Coklow, who won the 60-meter dash in a time of 7.83. That mark was a Division III and Open New England qualifying mark as well. Additionally, Coklow helped the Distance Medley Relay team to victory.

The foursome, which also included senior Elizabeth DeLeon and sophomores Mia Barnes and Sunny Shan, posted a time of 13:07.25 in victory.

Barnes also finished 12th on the day in the 5000-meter run with a time of 19:23.26. First year Ally Stoll was seventh in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 10.01. She also helped the 4x200 meter relay team to sixth.

Stoll was aided in the relay by sophomore Maria Lewis and first years Destiny Williams and Donari Yahzid as the foursome posted a time of 1:59.59. Yahzid went on to finish sixth in the triple jump with a mark of 10.22 meters, while first year Corrin Moss was eighth in the 3000-meter run with a time of 11:42.97.

The Lyons are now idle until January 16 when they travel to Vermont to take part in the Middlebury Invitational.
