NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - It was an outstanding effort on Sunday for the Mount Holyoke College tennis duo of Catherine Peabody and Annissa Aamoum who competed in the B Draw Championship of the New England Women's Intercollegiate Tennis Tournament (NEWITT). Their match was held on Sunday at co-host Smith College.

Squaring off against the duo of Venditti and Nesbit from Colby College, the Lyons pair had a strong effort in doubles action, besting the Mules by an 8-6 margin to take a 1-0 lead in the match-up. In first singles, Colby battled back as Nesbitt bested Aamoum by a 6-0, 6-0 margin to tie the match. In the second singles, both players worked hard, but Colby's Venditti earned a 7-5, 6-3 win over Peabody to give the Mules the Championship title.

The Lyons have now concluded competition for the fall season. MHC is back in action in February 23-24 when it travels to Vassar College to compete at the 2019 Seven Sisters Tennis Championship.
