Dave Allen enters his 25th season as head coach of the Mount Holyoke College swimming and diving program. Allen also serves as the Aquatics Director and a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Physical Education and Athletics.

At Mount Holyoke College

• Over 100 College and pool records have fallen under Allen's leadership.
• Several athletes have qualified for the NCAA Division III National Championships, including two-time NCAA National All-American Cathleen Pruden, who was also an eight-time NEWMAC Champion and the NEWMAC Swimmer of the Year in both 2015 & 2016.
• Has accumulated a dual meet record of 98-78-1, and his 2007-08 and 2015-16 squads posted the top grade point average in the nation among women’s teams competing at the NCAA Division III level.

Before Mount Holyoke College

• Prior to joining the Mount Holyoke staff, Allen was an assistant swimming and diving coach at both the University of Rochester (1997-98) and Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota (1995-97). While at St. Mary’s, he also served as an Athletic Trainer (1993-95).
• Allen is certified as both a strength and conditioning specialist as well as an athletic trainer. He earned his Master of Science Degree in exercise science-human performance from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and his Bachelor of Science in physical education from Bridgewater State College.

Personal

• Allen is an American Red Cross certified instructor in water safety, life guarding, CPR and community first aid. Allen currently serves as the Assistant Director and Swim Coach for the United States Sports Camps. He has been involved in the camp since 1988.
