WORCESTER, Mass. -- Mount Holyoke College finished in ninth place among 10 teams as the fourth and final day of the NEWMAC Swimming and Diving Championships concluded Sunday at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Mount Holyoke finishd with 145.5 points at the meet to outscore Clark (140.5) for ninth place.
Sunday's highlights for the Lyons included:
- First-year Katherine Upton (Cambridge, Mass.) placed 15th in 3-meter diving, with 248.80 points.
- Sophomore Isabel Dunn (Harbor Springs, Mich.) was the first alternate for the finals in the 200-yard butterfly, ultimately placing 21st in a time of 2:19.92.
- Senior Hannah Heierhoff (Wiesbaden, Germany) placed 22nd in the 1,650-yard freestyle (19:38.33) and 23rd in the 200-yard butterfly (2:21.58).
- Sophomore Rebecca Pursner (Watkinsville, Ga.) placed 26th in the 1,650 freestyle (20:27.38).
- Sophomore Madeline Hood (The Colony, Texas) took 27th place in the 1,650 freestyle (20:37.13) and 23rd in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:44.06).
- First-year Rowyn Farley (Pontiac, Mich.) placed 29th in the 1,650 freestyle (21.22.77).
- Junior Sophie Allen (Lopez Island, Wash.) placed 30th in the 200-yard backstroke (2:22.14).
- Mount Holyoke took 10th place in the A Final of the 400-yard freestyle relay, with senior Kamlyn Yosick (Portland, Ore.), Allen, Heierhoff, and senior Megan Schneider (Newton, Mass.) finishing in 3:43.80.
