THE MATCHUP: Mount Holyoke opens its 2016-17 season on Friday, welcoming the Greyhounds of Assumption College. It marks the sixth all-time meeting between the two schools, dating back to the first meet in 2011-12 - a 148-108 Greyhounds victory. Assumption hold the series edge by a 5-0-0 margin.

THE LYONS: Mount Holyoke begins its season on Friday, following a 2015-16 campaign that saw the squad go 8-2 in dual meet action. The Lyons notched third overall at the Seven Sisters Championships, while finishing ninth at the NEWMAC Championships.

THE GREYHOUNDS: Assumption enters Friday's action following a third-place finish at the Catholic College Invitational on October 15. Sophomore Shannon Quirk had a tremendous effort at the meet, first in the 1000 freestyle. She also placed second in the 500 freestyle and fifth in the 200 freestyle.

NEXT UP: Mount Holyoke is right back in action on Saturday, traveling to Northampton for the Smith College Relays, which begin at 10:30am. Assumption also returns to action tomorrow, competing at the Worcester City Championships at Holy Cross.
