BOSTON, Mass. – The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) has announced its weekly awards and Mount Holyoke College student-athlete Cathleen Pruden was recognized. The senior garnered Swimmer of the Week honors for the fourth straight week, and the sixth time this season, after another solid effort in a 157-142 win over Smith.

The Raleigh, N.C., native was outstanding in the Lyons final dual meet against the Pioneers, earning three individual wins, while helping MHC to victory in the final relay. She opened the meet with a win in the 100-yard breaststroke, touching the wall in a time of 1:08.30. Pruden then eclipsed her own school record in the 200-yard butterfly, posting a mark of 2:12.07.

Pruden went on to win the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:09.25 before anchoring the 400-yard freestyle to victory in a time of 3:48.63. The meet win for the Lyons marked their eighth of the season, improving their record to 8-2 overall.

This is the sixth NEWMAC honor of the season for Pruden, who was tabbed on November 3rd following a nine-victory week. She was also honored on December 7th after posting three NCAA B Cuts, three pool records, three meet records and six wins third at the Hamilton Invitational, while garnering honors on January 19th following a six-win week to help the Lyons go 3-1.

Pruden was also the conference's honoree on January 25th after finishing as the only swimmer with four individual victories, as well as a relay win, at the 2016 Seven Sisters Championship. She picked up the NEWMAC top honor on February 1st after recording four victories in a tight win against Simmons.

A former standout at the Ravenscroft School, Pruden has posted 39 victories this season, including at least three wins in all 10 meets. Additionally, she has notched four or more victories in six meets, including her five-win effort at the Hamilton Invite and the Seven Sisters Championship.

Entering this week's action, Pruden is currently among the top swimmers in the nation in four different events. She ranks fifth in Division III in the 400-IM and is also seventh in the 200-IM. Additionally, Pruden is 18th in the nation in the 1650-free and 26th in the 200-breast.

Mount Holyoke is now idle until February 18th when it heads to Cambridge, Mass., to compete at the 2016 NEWMAC Championships, hosted by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Action at the meet begins on Thursday (2/18) and runs through Sunday (2/21).
