Golf Sits 10th Following Day 1 of Williams Fall Invitational

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - Round one action at the 2018 Williams Fall Invitational has concluded and through the first 18 holes, the Mount Holyoke College golf team sits 10th overall in the field. The event, which is being held at Taconic Golf Club, is currently led by the host Ephs, who recorded a combined score of 315 on the day. The Lyons posted a combined 354.

Junior Susan Lee leads the squad following day one, recording an 83 to place 24th overall in the field of 83 golfers. Rookie Cortney Qiu is second on the team and 33rd in the field after shooting an 88 in the First Round, while junior Stephanie Spitzer is just two strokes behind with a score of 88 - good for 42nd.

Sophomore Lahela Delaney is sitting 64th overall with a score of 97, while junior Elizabeth Andrian rounds out the team scoring with a 99, which puts her 66th overall in the field.

Individually in the field, Middlebury's Chloe Levins shot one under par for a total of 70 on the afternoon. Williams' Joanna Kim posted a 75, good for second, while NYU's Nattcha Treeevichaphan rounds out the top three with a 76.

Williams leads in the team scoring with a combined 315, NYU is a very close second - just four strokes back - with a 319, while Middlebury is third with a combined 322. Amherst is just one stroke behind the Panthers with a mark of 323 for fourth, while Wellesley rounds out the top five, sitting six strokes behind the Mammoths with a 329.

Action at the Williams Fall Invitational concludes with the Final Round on Sunday at 8:30am.
