Golf Currently 4th After Day 1 of Batchelder Invitational

WELLESLEY, Mass. - Day one of action at the 2018 Ann S. Batchelder Invitational is complete and through the opening round of action, the Mount Holyoke College golf team sits fourth among the field. The Lyons posted a combined score of 333 through the first 18 holes, sitting just eight strokes behind third place Vassar.

MHC was led on day one by rookie Cortney Qiu, who posted a score of 80 in her collegiate debut, and is sitting tied for 11th overall. Junior Stephanie Spitzer is close behind in 18th after recording an 82, while sophomore Lahela Delaney is currently 21st with a score of 84. Ranking 24th in the field is junior Susan Lee, who recorded an 87 in the First Round, while junior Elizabeth Andrian closes out the team action in 34th with a 92.

The host Blue currently leads the overall event with a combined 306. Amherst is second with a score of 311, followed by Vassar (325), Mount Holyoke (333) and Middlebury (337). Individually, Wellesley's Ella Warburg, Amherst's India Gaume and Middlebury's Chloe Levins are all tied for the top medalist honors after recording a 75 in the opening round.
