Golf Finishes Sixth at Leaman Invitational

AMHERST, Mass – Mount Holyoke concluded action at the 2018 Jack Leaman Invitation on Sunday at Hickory Ridge Golf Club. The Lyons finished the weekend in seventh overall with a combined score of 704. The host Mammoths of Amherst captured this year's team title with a score of 634.

Individually, the Lyons were led by Stephanie Spitzer (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central), who tied for 13th with a combined score of 164 - shooting an 82 in both rounds. Sophomore Susan Lee (Irvine, Calif./University HS) rose from 33rd on day one to place 22nd in the field with a combined 167 (87-80), while sophomore Elizabeth Andrian (Glastonbury, Conn./Glastonbury) took 33rd with a combined 174 (86-88). 

Rounding out the group was first year Lahela Delaney (Honolulu, Hawaii/Roosevelt) and sophomore Madi Gale (Poulsbo, Wash./Kingston), who placed 45th and 47th with scores of 199 (100-99) and 211 (103-108), respectively.

Following Amherst in the top-five was New York University in second (637), followed by Williams College (641), Middlebury (662), and Vassar (687).

Mount Holyoke returns to the links next weekend when it heads to Canton, N.Y., to compete at the 2018 Liberty League Championship. St. Lawrence University will host this year's event at the Oliver D. Appleton Golf Course beginning Saturday and running through Sunday.
